4/10/2024 EnchantaVaughn Approved QMHPA arrived to Ms. Broadnaxâs residence. Upon arrival to the home, Ms. Broadnax was talking on her cell phone. Ms. Broadnax was loud and used inappropriate languages while on the phone. Ms. Broadnax shared that she was talking to one of her friends. QMHPA redirected Ms. Broadnax to get off the phone and prepare for the session. Upon arrival, she did not present any symptoms of S/I. QMHPA began the session off by engaging Ms. Broadnax in a discussion surrounding her current emotional state. QMHPA began by encouraging conflict resolution skills. QMHPA used coaching and instructions on how to use a moderate voice tone when feeling over whelmed as well as some other coping tools to help her communicate more effectively. QMHPA educated Ms. Broadnax on the definition of a bully. This skill will help Ms. Broadnax process of what is meant by a bully. QMHPA assisted Ms. Broadnax with identifying behavioral triggers associated with her anger such as expressions of anger, body language, voice levels and voice tones. This skill will help Ms. Broadnax learn how to avoid and reduce stress associated with anger. Ms. Broadnax appeared to be in receptive to QMHPAsâ suggestions that were provided to her during this session. Ms. Broadnax admitted that her voice tone was loud and her language was harsh. Ms. Broadnax also acknowledged that she needs to lower her voice and be mindful of what she says to and around others. Ms. Broadnax did agree that she was not shy about her use of words on the phone because she meant what she said. Ms. Broadnax shared that lowering her voice when she communicates is one of her short term goals. Ms. Broadnax stated, âI know my mouth gets me into a great deal of trouble and that is when I get depressed and angry because I feel the consequences are not fairâ. Ms. Broadnax admitted that the incident that occurred could have been avoided. Ms. Broadnax shared that she felt bad because of her negative behaviors around her counselor. Ms. Broadnax shared that it is hard for her to take responsibility for her actions. Ms. Broadnax was commended. Ms. Broadnax admitted during the session that she can be aggressive with other people especially when she is frustrated or if she feels someone is doing something behind her back. Ms. Broadnax shared also that she is not the easiest person to get along with because of her anger issues. Ms. Broadnax did acknowledged that she understood the definition of bullying and was able to process that she could see how her actions on the phone could be viewed as being a bully. Ms. Broadnax was able to process that she has to calm down in order to get her point across and meet her needs in a timely manner.
